Where: Seattle, Washington
Mission per company’s website: “EarthShare
Washington (ESW) plays a vital role in promoting environmental education,
volunteerism, and charitable giving by partnering with businesses across
Washington.”
Final Thoughts:The site visit was EarthShare an approach to sustainability. We met with
this person was Jeff Whiton. This is what was said the company is the
federation of other environmental nonprofit agencies. It focuses on employee
engagement and where they educate employees about environment. There are 21
local charities and 44 national/international charities. They offer sustainable
workbooks and software to promote sustainability within employees. The company
actually started a funding organization. There are no fees for services
provided. The things I gained were to see how much
education plays a big part in world of sustainability. The way funding is
developed thru donations. There are companies willing to charge no fees to
provide consultation to companies interested in improving the company’s
sustainability program or initiatives.
