Final Thoughts: some of the sustainable features that the CIRS building had was stir sticks made fine wood, solar panel windows, water cistern, wood floors from local wood, monitor showing energy savings. There were also some amazing housing and mix use development in the UBC campus. Townhomes, apartments, convenience stores, office space, etc. The 100 acre sustainable South Campus community has heart and soul in the urban village, where residents can live, work, study, and play.
